Welcome to the Riddlesdown Religious Education
Religious Education is taught through key stage 3 and 4. At key stage 3 students also study Citizenship units. Topics covered include facts and traditions from the main world religions as well as profiles of important individuals and analysis of scriptures from the major faiths. All students are entered for the GCSE and students cover topics which reflect everyday experiences. These are studied from the perspective of different religious believers. The Religious Education units are aimed to encourage reflection and questioning, as well as allowing students to discuss their own opinions on the topics being covered. Students are also encouraged to evaluate the impact of religion and assess the relevance it has to religious believers in their local communities and worldwide.
